Okay, maybe I'll learn a bit more about C#/Mono and try and construct a

Possibly what would be better is to have an option (enabled by default)
where f-spot copies the photos to somewhere sensible (~/Pictures for
example) in a sane directory structure (much like iPhoto does).

Although good removable media support would also rock.

I've experimented with my 13000+ collection and have found performance
to be acceptable. Things like the dates thing need to be fixed before I
can really use it though (things from 2000/2001 showing up like i just
took them for instance).

This certainly has the promise of being a killer-app though!
