  I'm a bit puzzled how you managed to crash this. The input is
only an URI string, and unless the pointer is invalid in some way
that feels really strange. Best would be to try with a non-optimized
version. 
  The other possibility is that at this point some stray memory
accesses hit the memory allocator areas so next allocations would 
crash. In any case getting a good stack trace from optimized code 
of the system libraries will be challenging.
