Do FileChooser+gnome-vfs currently work?

Currently I've:
      * HEAD installed under /opt/gnome
      * /opt/gnome/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/filesystems/libgnome-vfs.so
      * /desktop/gnome/interface/file_chooser_backend 0 "gnome-vfs"
but it seems that filechoose still use plain gtk+ backend :-(

So the question: is the gnome-vfs currently working and is it a fault of
my system? 


PS: yeah, I've tried
