glib types

hi,

short question. i am running through the recent balsa
sourcecode and detected that most types used are these
from standard 'C' ... since balsa is a gnome application
isn't it better replacing all standard 'C' types with
these provided by 'glib' ? we would get more compatibility
and also portability and this also won't break things.
e.g. breaking pthreads, etc...

just my 0.2 cents.
