My d7000 (and I assume at least many other nikon cameras) saves:
SubSecCreateDate : 2012:03:30 17:02:39.60
SubSecDateTimeOriginal : 2012:03:30 17:02:39.60
SubSecModifyDate : 2012:03:30 17:02:39.60
I'm for never discarding data from exif or storing it at lower
"resolution" than it came in.
