Btw, I'm also interested in knowing if someone has come up with a 
workaround to this issue.

I'm about to sync almost 10 years of photos / approx 200 tags to Picasa 
but I would really like to avoid doing it one by one.

Google Picasa could do this but I haven't got any albums or tags there 
so I would have to re-do all my album work again.
