[Shotwell] Pictures auto-import systematically hangs

Hi everyone !

First congrats to the developers for this very nice piece of software ! 
I love fast apps with a minimalistic GUI.

I'm currently using : Ubuntu 10.10 AMD64 + Shotwell 0.8.1 from the 
official PPA

I never used this kind of app before because I prefer to copy and 
organize pictures by myself using regular folders. I tried Shotwell as 
it can now "watch" a regular directory as media players usually do and 
store tags in the files themselves !

I have a problem though : the auto-import process always hangs at around 
13%. The GUI doesn't hang but it just never completes the auto-import. I 
have about 11 000 files which weigh about 24 GB. I tried to enable the 
debug mode and noticed in shotwell.log that the auto-import always 
stopped on a the picture file. So I removed it. The following time, it 
stopped on another file, made with a different camera.

What can I do to help fix this issue ? IMHO, there's no relevant issue 
in the debug log I obtained with the SHOTWELL_LOG=1 env variable.
