[Shotwell] Regenerate thumbnails?

Hi,

I have a shotwell library that for various reasons (that I'm too
embarrassed to go into) is missing the thumbnails. The pictures and
their information are all present in the database, but blank
placeholders are displayed for all the photos in the main interface. I
do have a backup of the .shotwell directory, but the timestamp on its
photo.db is a couple of weeks older and is a different filesize, so I'm
not sure if it's up to date or even consistent (the file counts in
thumbs128 & thumbs360 differ by one). Before I restore the backup, I
was wondering if there was any other way to get shotwell to just
regenerate the missing thumbnails instead?

Also, is there any way to edit the pictures' extended metadata, not just
the basic title/tags/rotation/timestamp?
