So the deal with that commit is it fixes a broken feature that re-creates
video thumbnails when the GStreamer "cookie" has changed. In other words,
if you install a new GStreamer codec, etc. it will force a refresh of your
video thumbnails. The first time you run with this patch it will have to
generate new thumbnails for all your videos, and this may take a significant
amount of time.
I know it's annoying that Shotwell is sluggish for a while, but it should
speed up once the re-thumbnailing completes.
