Hi,
Could you give us some more information on how you copied the DB from the
old computer to the new? Normally, copying your pictures folder and your
~/.shotwell folder, and telling the new installation where to find the
pictures folder in Shotwell preferences.
If you open Shotwell and right click on one of the photos with a missing
thumbnail and select open in file manager, does it find the photo? Are the
photos marked as missing (in the Missing section of the sidebar?)
Unfortunately, our plugin system is currently not very powerful. Writing a
plugin to re-create missing thumbnails is not possible. However, if you'd
like to take a stab at fixing that issue, we're always happy to consider
patches submitted by our users!
