[Shotwell] thumbnail update

Would it be useful to put the source image name, path, unique ID,
and/or md5sum in the thumbnail's EXIF header?
As I was re-scanning my photos yesterday, I was thinking it would save
a lot of time to re-use the thumbnails that I had before. I didn't
see any data in the thumbnails (filename or header data) that would
enable them to be reconnected to their source images if the database
was lost or corrupted.
Just an idea.
