[Shotwell] shotwell closing in ubnutu unity

hi all,
I'm new to shotwell following its introduction to ubuntu in maverick, and
really liking it. However, if I close and re-open, the window appears (after
a pause), then closes again. This seems to be as described in this bug
report:

but I can't seem to follow the bug through to a resolution. Has anyone else
had this issue, and if so can you point me to a fix please? I'm running
up-to-date ubnutu 10.10 (upgraded from 9.-4) on an aspire revo. This doesn't
appear to happen with other applications...
