# MapBox meeting # ## Agenda ## ### The now ### 1. Quota 1. What will happen if we run over our quota (100 000 map views / month). Answer: We'll continue getting tiles, we'll not be shut off suddenly. If we reach unreasonable loads we'll need to talk. 2. Print / static maps 1. We're printing PDF's for route search printouts. Will this fly? Answer: The current solution should work fine. 3. Tiles 1. What's the License of the tiles? Answer: Read more in the [Terms of Service][1] 2. How many concurrent HTTP requests are we allowed to make? Answer: No restriction. ### The Future ### 4. Vector tiles 1. Can we add POI's or other special things to the Vector tiles? 6. Route searches 1. Any plans on making public transportation via GTFS a thing? Answer: Not at the moment, but if we implement something Mapbox would be interested in looking at the solution. 7. Offline Maps 1. Can we use Mapbox in some way for this? Answer: Yes, According to Alex there's a specific section about that in the [ToS][1]. 7. Going forward. 1. Would it be possible to get a discount / special deal going forward if we choose to continue with Mapbox? If we choose to continue with Mapbox we'll probably consider crowdfunding or reaching out to various companies using GNOME technologies for sponsorship. Answer: They were interested in talking more about this further on as we get a sense for the amount of data we're using. ### Requests and wishes from Mapbox ### 1. Tracking osm edits. We can track osm edits using [piwik][2]. This is not user tracking but tracking the number of referrals we get from gnome-maps. Mapbox would be interested in the data and, I think, us also. 2. Overlay a mapbox logo on the map somewhere. One thing Mapbox wants in return for sponsoring us is to overlay a Mapbox logo somewhere on the map. Preferrably bottom left. I think this is reasonable and something we should just do. [1]: https://www.mapbox.com/tos/ [2]: https://piwik.openstreetmap.org/
