A question about custom widgets

Hi all,
i'm thinking about creating a custom widget that extdens Gtk::Range widget, where could i take some help for it? 
Here http://www.gtkmm.org/docs/gtkmm-2.4/docs/tutorial/html/chapter-customwidgets.html#sec-custom-containers 
is a custom widget derived by Gtk::Container, but i suppose i will need to override different functions... ?
