UltraVNC is a really crappy VNC server. There are multiple cursor
extensions and it may be that it's expecting that if one's available,
that both are available.
I've seen servers that do this.

Which patch is that? I'm on travel now so I've not had much time to
look at patches. I don't think it's necessary to wait for an ack to
commit something, rather just give people a reasonable chance to nack.
