Where should I look for the answers?
If you mean the window that comes up when I click on the battery and
choose preferences (window title = Power Management Preferences),
I see 3 tabs:
AC
sleep when inactive = never
lid closed = hibernate
spin down disks - unchecked
display sleep when inactive -- was empty - now set to 10 min
display brightness = currently 81%
dim when idle - checked
battery
sleep when inactive = never
lid closed = hibernate
battery critically low = hibernate
(how to control how low is critical?)
spin down disks - checked
display sleep when inactive - 10 min
reduce backlit brightness - checked
dim when idle - checked
general
power button = ask
suspend button = suspend
notification = always display icon
