[gpm] [new to the list] - Brightness applet

Hi all,

I'm new to the list - my apologies in advance if I'm talking non-sense !

Regarding the brightness applet, is anyone already looking at:
        https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=612399
and
        https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=611890

I noticed quickly that in the very last GIT versions (2.92 +) the
'applets' sub-directory disappears completely from the source code. Will
the applets be discarded or move to another package in the next
releases ?
In any case, I'm happy to help on those two bugs if I can. I actually
already started playing with the source code packaged with my Ubuntu
10.10 (version 2.32 I beleive), but wanted to know what's the plan
before going any further ...
