[gpm] bug laptop

i hope by reporting this will help. because i am a newbie i hope that 
this is a bug and i am not messing up. well, i have a laptop, dell xps 
m140 and i have mint install. when i run on battery and i change the 
brightness my computer's cpu runs on 100% and i do not have the right 
click menu. when i end the process of the gnome power manager from the 
system monitor everything comes back with no problems. i hope that this
