Agreed, thanks. I've applied it with minor changes. You also need to
set your email address so git formatted patches display the right
email (and so lazy me can just use git am). To do this, just set
export GIT_AUTHOR_EMAIL=dave at dave.com in ~/.bash_profile for future
patches. Thanks!
