Jeff, FYI. Am seeing this output from configure. Have checked out tag GMIME_2_6_15 from the git repo:

./configure: line 15703: syntax error at line 15732: `(' unexpected
(Yes, you'll note we're eager to get it built!)

D'oh, got your email right after releasing GMime 2.6.14 last night.

I've just fixed this bug and am rolling a 2.6.15 release right now (will 
probably be pushed to the ftp site by the time you read this email).
