I had mailed this id= ea to the mailing list for the GSoC events, but never submitted it in the f= orm of a student project proposal and hence I realise that I am not qualifi= ed for that event. However I would like to work on this idea in the upcomin= g summer months as a project under a mentor if I am allowed, NOT as a part = of GSOC though.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce one of my project=20 ideas that deals with photo viewers or similar applications. Being an=20 university student, I and many of my friend rely on photo viewers to view the image form of the class notes for studies and exam preparations,=20 and doing this on a regular basis, I think that certain changes can be=20 made to the commonly available photo viewers to make them easier and=20 better to use.
It is that because of the handwritten materials, the image would=20 ideally look better if enlarged because of the clumsiness or other=20 factors of that note, again some image may have been stored in such a way= =20 that we would ideally like to rotate and read it. These problems need=20 simple yet tedious corrections and users usually get bored for a large=20 set of such image files. So i would like to think that if these=20 corrections could have been done automatically by the photo viewer=20 itself, then that would make it a lot more user friendly.

Now I=20 would like to state about my competence regarding implementation of this project, I have almost finished doing two projects regarding document=20 processing under professor Umapada Pal (Computer Vision and Pattern=20 Recognition department of Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata)=A0 and=20 the implementation outline of this project that I have in mind will=20 benefit from the code written for those two projects.I have used MATLAB=20 to code them and would thus prefer to code even this project using=20 MATLAB for the obvious conveniences stated.

I am very much eager to work= under a mentor for this project from your reputed organisation. I would thus request for a liaison to work in this project.
