But unfortunately only in Audio or voice mode.? I have never been able to get the video (I have tried both standalone webcam as well as fixed, integrated webcam) to work.? The webcams are fine because I have tried them with skype and they work just fine.? Some times I get a message that my webcam is already in use by another application and that Ekiga is unable to grab it.? This is not true because at that time I have absolutely nothing else running (definitely not skype). So where am I going wrong?? I am a moderately knowledgeable linux user trying to get Ekiga to work again.? It has worked for me before on this laptop but ony with totally unsecured free wireless- no encrypton and probably no one else on the dhcp server. At the moment I have a router with my MAC addres bound to a particular non-routable IP (192.168.0.100).? I can surf thru the router and the IP my machine gets from the router is the one I have bound: >ifconfig wlan0???? Link encap:Ethernet? HWaddr xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx? ????????? inet addr:192.168.0.100? Bcast:192.168.0.255? Mask:255.255.255.0 ????????? UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST? MTU:1500? Metric:1 ????????? RX packets:8887 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 ????????? TX packets:8135 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 ????????? collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 ????????? RX bytes:4673295 (4.4 Mb)? TX bytes:1470740 (1.4 Mb) On the router config screens I have ports forwarded to my bound IP per instructions at http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Enable_port_forwarding_manually Virtual Servers ID Service Port Internal Port IP Address Protocol Status Modify 15000-51005000-5100192.168.0.100UDPEnabledModify?Delete23478-34793478-3479192.168.0.100UDPEnabledModify?Delete317201720192.168.0.100TCPEnabledModify?DeleteI have restarted the router to insure that these settings are in effect. However when I start Ekiga it gives the dreaded message: Ekiga did not manage to configure your network settings automatically. You can still use it, but you need to configure your network settings manually. Please see http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Enable_port_forwarding_manually for instructions Very oddly, this seems to be intermittent.? It did work once last night, but after exiting and restarting ekiga (but not restarting or otherwise touching the router), it gives the dreaded message again. Any suggestions? Thanks. ? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
