Please note the software versions, mentioned in my original mail:

ekiga 2.1.0 
opal 2.3.2
pwlib 1.11.5

All those packages were from svn at that time. I had to compile all of
them myself because opal did not support dynamic module loading before
2.3.*

Are you using original opal that comes with fc6? 

In opal 2.2.5 all codecs are linked within libopal...
