I have some more info.

IIRC when I connect with Messenger the codec used is PCMU.
I hope I am not wrong.
If I try to use this codec (basically I only allow this codec) with
500 at ekiga.net it does not work.

Does it matter? Should I use a better codec? Does ekiga.net support it?
