His problem was entirely different, if I remember well : he was trying 
to compile pwlib with a recent openLDAP -- and pwlib's LDAP code is 
using a deprecated api.

Yes, my code landed in svn -- and it doesn't use deprecated api.

What is strange is that you seem to have *none* of the openLDAP 
functions, but we don't see a warning about not finding ldap.h...

What do you have in that ldap.h?
