[Ekiga-list] Cheap DID for Calgary

Hi,
Many of you know I'm a keen VoIP user, and part time Ekiga developer.

Just wanted to relay my (pleasant) experience with www.didww.com, who
can provide Calgary DID for $5 p/m (+ $5 setup). These are SIP, H323 and
IAX compatable. They have DIDs in lots of locations.

For those who don't know: a DID provides a connection from the PSTN to a
VoIP service (so people on normal phones can call you).

Note these are incoming only - to make outgoing calls to the PSTN you
would need to find another service (I use IConnectHere as a pre-paid
calling card from multiple FreeWorldDialup accounts).

Another useful thing about didww is that you can quickly/easily switch
the destination of the call. So I can redirect calls to my 'home'
location for the weekend or to my 'work' location for the week.

[If I wasn't so stingy, I could even cough up more money and have them
directed at my cell (PSTN) number]

What they don't mention is that you can use them as a SIP alias to
accept SIP connections from the outside, so your caller can be on either
PSTN or VoIP. Coupled with Enum this means the system can route calls
the cheapest way, without the caller having to remember multiple contact
numbers.

They seem to be allocating numbers in the 444 stem at the moment - so my
number is +1.403444xxxx - which can also contacted via
sip:1403444xxxx at sip.didww.com

I suppose that's enough advertising for them ;-). I have no connection with
this company, other than being a statisfied customer.

See ya all on Wednesday,
Simon.
