Interesting observation.
Can you also please mention which version of firefox and orca?
I had the same problem and did put it on the bundle but since i have
started using orca 2.26.1 on the forefox which comes with ubuntu 9.04, I
don't get that much delay.
But all in all the problem might be with orca itself.
