Yes its the same
Apt-get install package
Aptitude install package
They both work. i think you can do the same with apt which is short for aptitude, but not sure what you type with apt. Glad to help. Welcome to the list and linux. I hope you enjoy it.

ok, this is something I can work with tomorrow, just one good question 
though, is "aptitude " the same as "apt-get" just thought I would ask, as I 
have never used aptitude  before, a friend is teaching me commands, and he 
taught me apt-get.
