I honestly don't know the state of Orca's window but I would think it
minimizes whenever you alt-tab away to something else. When you
alt-tab back to it, it then regains whatever size the window is
normally when used. The advantage of setting this checkbox is when
you alt-tab around, you aren't bothered with Orca but if you want to
access Orca preferences, then just press insert-spacebar to bring Orca
into focus with you inside the preferences dialog. To me, that's the
best of both worlds. One less program to tab through with the alt-tab
list but still be accessible with a single keystroke.
Hope this helps.
