Hello,
There is now an option in firevox to use an emacspeak server.  This 
allows speech output from ff2 on linux, windows or mac.  You can 
read about it on the Raman's emacspeak blog.  It should also be noted 
the firevox extension does not work with ff3.  
Not sure why firefox and orca were ever integrated in the first place.  
So, you can run ff2 with firevox using the emacspeak server, or ff3 with 
orca.
