Hi Charlie,
it is already a .bin-file with the .bin extension.
You are running orca?
When I am refering to a terminal I meant the gnome-terminal wich you can open from within Gnome by pressing alt-f2. This will open the run dialog where you just type
gnome-terminal followed by enter.
This will open a console where you can execute commands. To exit out of gnome-terminal and return back to the desktop just type
exit followed by enter.
Have you used the text console at all or just Orca?
