You're right but I mean, based on my observation, that I think it's not
so strictly necessary to overload Nautilus code with tabbed browsing
when I think that it's a problem of the windows manager (metacity &
co.).
I agree with you that Firefox tab browsing and gedit one help you to better organize the workplace.
Pcmanfm and or a gconf nautilus option could be a solution until modern
windows manager wil manage it across application so you can tab
everything from the ground up grouping toghether generic object.
I'm not familiar with the architecture of Nautilus,
but it should be offered at least as an option.
