There are big issues with .desktop files :- they are not recognized, : they are displayed without their icon and correct name (displayed as a geglxxxx.desktop...; eekxxxx.desktop...) and I've got the nautilus "choose an action for that file, please..." dialog (and the first time, it appears several seconds after I ear the little gnome sound played to inform the user that a dialog should appear). Desktop files are recognized if I change their name in the Information window or with the launcher editor dialog. But then, if I kill an restart nautilus, there are not recognized again. Nautilus sniffs them only if I remove the .desktop extension via a terminal. But then, I can't edit them anymore via the ->edit launcher entry of the desktop menu. The entry is there, but it doesn't do anything.
