Fading

Hello.

I'd need to make one or two gdk-pixbufs fade in/out (or even crossfade)
on a gnome-canvas.
Looking at the API, I found gdk_pixbuf_add_alpha(), but then I can't
find any way to change it over the whole image :-(
Am I missing something?
