I'm trying to learn how to program in GTK+ but I'm
having some trouble.Could you please help me?

My questions:
What is a visual in GDK?
What are:font ascent,font descent,and text ascent,text
descent?
Is there any function to select text?

I'd really appreciate if you answer my question.
