Troubles with glib 1.1.3

[el mono <mono andromeda utp edu co>]

I'm trying to rebuild the gtk+1.1.2 srpm package but seems that the
glib_major_version, glib_minor_version and glib_micro_version are not
declared after including the glib.h header file so autoconfig can not
detect glib. Do anybody knows the problem?, I'm using gcc 2.7.?
