A lot depends from the app you're trying to port.
It may be almost trivial or require nearly a full rewrite.
Better post simply, what app you're trying to port.
And, unless some heavy porting is required (like if that's a Gnome 1 app),
probably a rather trivial change to pkg-config is only required.
