Are you trying to embed GTK components within the ARtoolkits interface, like having a computer screen sitting in the ATtoolkit 3D space...
Or are you trying to embed the ARtoolkit 3D view within a GTK user interface, so you can experiment with ARtoolkit without the funky head gear?
The latter case shouldn't be too hard, while the former might well be very difficult indeed. Cairo's capabilities might bring some promise, but I think for the time being only the latter option is readily possible.
