RadioItem paths in ItemFactories

The GtkItemFactory documentation says that I
can define a path which a radio item can link against. 

   possible values:
    * "<RadioItem>"      -> create a radio item
    * <path>             -> path of a radio item to link against

I can't seem to find a working syntax, though.  Can someone
help?
