drawing a shaped pixmap in an drawing area

Hi,
  its me again. How can i paint a shaped pixmap in an drawing area? 
gdk_draw_pixmaps takes only a GdkPixmap* but no GdkBitmap. Is there a
better documentation than http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/gdk ?
