RC file problem

Hi,

I am using a widget which draws in a scrolled window.  I am also using
the gtk_rc_add_default_file() function to load a RC file.  However I
am unable to change the properties of the layout (basically the widget
on which drawing is done, for e.g. it's background) via the RC file.
I also have other widgets in the scrolled window (like scrollbars) and
the properties of those I can control from the RC file.

Is there something I am missing?
