GtkTree selections

I have a callback connected to a Tree's "selection_changed" signal. It
uses the GTK_TREE_SELECTION macro to get the selection of the tree. If
the same item is selected twice (double-click or not), it segfaults on the
GTK_TREE_SELECTION. Is this a product of my ancient (1.2.3) version of
GTK, or something else?
