erasing (cleaning) drawing area

Hy all...

   How can I do to erase a drawing Area???

   Ok... i did something like the scribble example, but is only missing one thing... a
function
(that i will connect with a button labeled "clear") to erase a drawing area... how can i do
it?
   One other thing... i need a function that closes (or kill) juas a dialog window... (a
message
window)... not to quit the entire program...
