Best way...

What is the best way to completely blow away gtk and start all over.
I've got mixed versions installed, and I think the problems I'm getting
are resulting from that.  I would have done a make uninstall from the
first, but didn't have the source.
Now I'm getting very ill trying to make sure I remove EVERYTHING and all
notion of everything before remaking glib and gtk.
