scrollbar in text widget

hello,

i've an application which uses a text widget with a scrollbar. in the text
widget, some logging data will be written periodically, sometimes very much
in a short period of time.

my problem is now, if i want to look at previously logged data, the
scrollbar behaves somewhat 'sticky' when a lot of data is being logged at
the same time (because if something is written, the scrollbar will move
downwards). is there a possibility to influence the behaviour of the
scrollbar, e.g. that it stays at the place where it has been pulled?
