Question re: error

I'm getting ...

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwidget.c: line 2287 (gtk_widget_intersect):
assertion `widget != NULL' failed.

... whenever I click on my button-option list which is a pop-up
gtk_option_menu

I can give more details if necessary, I'm just wondering if someone
could tell me what the generic meaning of that error is?
