I'm running FreeBSD 3.0 and I have no problems with cyrillic
input. I also use cronyx fonts, but they are in koi8-r encoding.
Probably you need to use ru_RU.KOI8-R locale instead of ru_RU
(because it may provide ISO8859-5 encoding). When LANG environment
variabe is set to ru_RU.KOI8-R and Gtk+ application calls
gtk_set_locale() all worked fine. Be sure that your cyrillic fonts
has the same encoding, that your locale settings.
