- While you can easily export data from gnumeric in formats that
grace can understand, we have no plans to improve the binding
beyond that unless someone contributes a patch. Our experience
with external plotting applications has not been good. Guppi had
a nice engine, but there was too much coupling between gnumeric
and the charting engine to provide a comfortable user experience.
Before embarking on writing yet another engine I looked into the
the available set (grace was not checked because as far as I know
it does not have a library). None of them produced something we
could use.
- Could you expand on 'bad looking' ? The charting engine is
certainly not as strong as I'd like, but it is improving.
Bug reports and patches are welcome.
