Checkin requires all plugins to be recompiled & installed

I have just checked in some improvements to the versioning of plugins.  It is
still very crude but will hopefully cut down on the bug reports due to version
mismatches.

If you build from CVS you will need to :
0) Manually remove any currently installed plugins
1) Recompile & reinstall all plugins you want installed.
