This is a known problem with the current copy code.  Cut has been rewritten to
use michael's lovely new style facilities.  Copy has not.  This would be an
excellent project for a fearless coder who would like a non-trivial intro to
gnumeric.

Please file an official bug report, the documentation is helpful in avoiding
duplicated problems.
